Nov. 1 brings radio control models, Nov. 7 shows scale models, Nov. 8 lets the model games begin
SEATTLE – The Museum of Flight in November showcases the spectrum of aircraft modeling-from the most detailed for display to the most modified for flight. Modeling events will then be capped with a competition that combines models and games. Radio controlled model airplanes will be exhibited Nov. 1, aircraft and spacecraft scale models take the stage Nov. 7, and historical miniatures gaming takes place on Nov. 8. Each event is free with admission to the Museum.
Radio Controlled Model Aviation Exhibition
Sunday, Nov. 1 | 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Experience the world of flying model airplanes. From small indoor models to large scale models made for competition events; the Marymoor Radio Control Club displays a wide range of RC aircraft. The exhibit includes simple models for training, sport models for flying fun, and jet models for speed. Club members will be onsite to answer questions.
NorthWest Scale Modelers Autumn Display
Saturday, Nov.7 | 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Museum hosts a special display of scale models of aircraft, automobiles, spacecraft and rockets. The event is a prelude to the Northwest Scale Modelers next annual show in February 2016.
Historic Miniature Gaming Society Exhibition
Sunday, Nov. 8 | 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Northwest Historical Miniatures Gaming Society returns for its annual exhibition of their fascinating hobby, which combines the challenges of fine model-making and sophisticated strategy game-playing. Several games will be demonstrated at the show, and visitor participation is encouraged. Guests can watch the action or visit the society’s information table to see amazing miniatures and learn more about the hobby.
