Grand opening day festivities of the Aviation Pavilion invites everyone to “paint the ave to the pav” with colorful airplanes, free gifts to early Pavilion visitors
SEATTLE – Celebrating the grand opening of the Museum’s new Aviation Pavilion on June 25, there will be a free sidewalk decorating party to “paint the ave to the pav.” From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. everyone is invited to be a part of art and aviation history by decorating a 500-foot section of the sidewalk bordering the new Aviation Pavilion. Participants can choose from a selection of airplane stencils and colors to paint on the sidewalk. All of the paints are certified nontoxic, and easily washable. More info online.
Festive Opening Day for the Aviation Pavilion Includes Free Gifts
On June 25 the Museum’s exhibit space doubles with the grand opening of the 9-story high Aviation Pavilion. Bigger than two football fields, the Pavilion will house the Museum’s largest airliners and bombers, and reveal planes that cannot be seen anywhere else. Seattle’s new family-friendly frontier of flight also offers a café and children’s play area with a mini airport terminal under the wings of the first 747 Jumbo Jet. June 25-26, the first 500 visitors coming into the Pavilion each day will receive free Aviation Pavilion swag bags with souvenir aviators, sun block, beach balls, temporary tattoos and tasty treats.
