This session is for art makers, educators, creative collaborators—anyone committed to ensuring community-wide access to art. Learn about current programs for school and public engagement, and discuss how we can create more opportunities reflecting our diverse heritage, traditions, and history. Engage in hands-on art making, practicing the act of making and re- making. Discussion leaders include:

ACME (Art. Community. Museum. Engagement.) sessions are bimonthly roundtable public exchanges where participants can dream and articulate new models of education and engagement through art. Presented by the UMFA in partnership with The City Library. UMFA ACME sessions have received funding from Utah Humanities. Utah Humanities enriches our cultural, intellectual, and civic life by providing opportunities for all Utahns to explore life’s most engaging questions and the wonders of the human experience.

Creativity takes place across a broad spectrum of places, spaces, and art forms. Join us for this presentation and Q&A with Stephen Goldsmith—artist, University of Utah associate professor, director of the Center for the Living City, founder of Artspace Utah, and former planning director for Salt Lake City. His practice includes sculpture, idea art, landscape design, shaping public policy, and restoration and preservation of places we care about.
