Opportunity to Interview Public Program Participants at Museum
CINCINNATI, OH – The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center invites the media to the screening of Paul Laurence Dunbar: Beyond the Mask and the opening reception honoring the grand prize winners of Picture Freedom this Saturday, February 11, 2017.
Paul Laurence Dunbar: Beyond the Mask explores the life and legacy of Paul Laurence Dunbar, one of the first African Americans to achieve national fame as a writer. Frederick Lewis, the program’s writer and director will be in attendance to introduce the film and lead a post-screening discussion. Media will have an opportunity to interview the producers of the documentary and staff following the documentary screening at 11:00 a.m.

The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center’s Second Annual Picture Freedom student art exhibition opens to the public this weekend. The grand prize winners will attend the opening reception at 1:00 p.m. this Saturday. The Picture Freedom Art Contest, sponsored by Toyota, encourages students to explore what freedom and equality mean to them by expressing their thoughts through art. The grand prize winners being honored are Razizi Ishakarah of Jackson, MS; Teddy Gray of Cincinnati, OH; and Serim Kim of Buena Park, CA. Media will have an opportunity to interview the grand prize winners at the opening reception program.
