Museum of Flight Jet Blast Bash Festival Brings Fans to the Blue Angels Flightline Aug. 5-6

Annual Seafair family festival with fast planes, fast cars, music, food and fun

SEATTLE – The Museum’s annual Seafair weekend outdoor festival-by-the-flightline, Jet Blast Bash, offers fast planes, fast cars, music, food and beer with Seattle’s closest seats to the ceremony and thunder of the Blue Angels’ takeoffs and landings.

Jet Blast Bash is also at the launch pad for Boeing Seafair Air Show’s star performers including the F-22 Raptor, A-10 Warhog and World War II fighters. For this year’s festival display the Museum will fly-in two rare World War II airplanes–a P-38 Lightning and a PBY Catalina. The event is Aug. 5-6, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and free with admission to the Museum.

In addition to the planes, there will be two dozen classic Corvettes and Thunderbirds on display, safe trampolines for the kids, and live music in a beer garden with catering by McCormick and Schmick’s. Exhibitors include LeMay-America’s Car Museum, PBY Museum, R2-D2 Builders, Naval Undersea Museum, Puget Sound Navy Museum, Airline Pilots Association,Galvin Flying and Emerald Downs.

Inside the Museum there will be presentations about the history of the Blue Angels, and special programs with SR-71 spyplane pilot and author Brian Shul.
