Girls Woodshop program at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum this August

The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in St. Michaels, Md. is hosting an evening Girls’ Woodshop program, running Monday, August 21, to Wednesday, August 23, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. each day. Over the course of three days, girls in grades six through nine will learn basics of hand tools and wood construction as each creates their own planter box from scratch. Participation is limited, with pre-registration needed.

Led by Seip Family Foundation Rising Tide Apprentice Lauren Gaunt, the workshop is designed to provide girls with basic woodworking knowledge while helping them feel confident and at home in a workshop. Participants must attend all three days, as the project will progress step by step over the course of the program. To register, or for more information, go to bit.ly/girlswoodshop
