SEATTLE – On Feb 3, US Air Force U-2 pilot Maj. Kristofer W. Duckett will deliver an inspiring and family-friendly presentation at The Museum of Flight. Duckett has served more than 22 years in the Air Force, and is currently with the 99th Reconnaissance Squadron at Beale AFB, Calif. The squadron employs U-2s in operations for high altitude intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance. Duckett has flown both combat and combat support missions in Uzbekistan, Iraq, and Afghanistan, humanitarian relief and recovery missions in India, Cambodia, Laos, Mongolia, Burma (Myanmar), the Philippines, and Counter-Lord’s Resistance Army missions in Africa.
During his 2 p.m. presentation Duckett will describe how he earned the coveted role of mission pilot, and how he overcame obstacles to live his dream. The program is free with admission to the Museum.
Duckett Supporting the Museum’s Educational Mission
Maj. Duckett will be the featured guest and mentor of the Museum’s Michael P. Anderson Memorial Aerospace Program on Feb. 3-an annual event which gives underserved children throughout Washington the chance to participate in the Museum’s educational programs rooted in aerospace. The program is inspired by Air Force officer Michael P. Anderson. As a NASA astronaut Anderson perished in the space shuttle Columbia disaster in 2003.
