NASA Chief Historian to Speak at Museum of Flight

SEATTLE – Celebrating NASA’s 60 anniversary-Oct. 1-the agency’s Chief Historian, Bill Barry, will be at the Museum on Oct. 6 with a presentation that looks back, looks forward, and shares little-known stories about pushing the boundaries of aviation and spaceflight. The lecture is at 2 p.m. and free with Museum admission.

Barry has been NASA’s Chief Historian since 2010, and oversees the work of historians throughout country telling the unique and exciting stories of NASA and its predecessor, the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (established in 1915). He is a veteran U.S. Air Force KC-135 tanker pilot, former educator at the U.S. Air Force Academy, and a current commercial glider and airplane pilot.

This lecture is part of the Museum’s participation in World Space Week (Oct. 4-10).
