TUKWILA, Wash – In honor of the July 16, 1969 launch of Apollo 11, representatives from The Museum of Flight—one fitted in a replica Apollo spacesuit—today raised an American flag on top of the Space Needle, Seattle’s famous landmark built in 1962 as a tribute to the new era of space exploration. Raising the flag with “Astronaut” was Museum President and CEO Matt Hayes. The Museum is currently hosting the exhibit done in partnership with the Smithsonian, Destination Moon: The Apollo 11 Mission until Sept. 2.
