British Museum announces free access to its Young Friends scheme

The British Museum is delighted to announce its Young Friends members scheme is now
available for all families across the UK to join for free.

The Young Friends scheme invites young people with curious minds to become enthralled and
inspired by history and archaeology. It provides the opportunity for them to learn more about
these subjects by exploring the British Museum’s extraordinary collection of objects,
documenting two million years of world history.

Offering fun ways for the family to get involved with the Museum, both onsite and from the
comfort of your own home, elements to the scheme include:

Bi-weekly emails packed full of activities such as trails, quizzes and craft activities
Details of family events across the museum
Pre-booking for the museum’s famous sleepovers
Digital copies of Remus magazine three times a year and access to the full archive

“It was really cool to look at artefacts that were 3,000 years old. I learnt my name in
hieroglyphs and drew amulets!”
Eva, aged 12, after a Museum sleepover

“My daughter just loved the whole experience of the sleepover and is desperate to book on the
next one!”
Gemma, parent
