SEATTLE – The Museum has commissioned a large new mural for the side of its Archives building and invites the public to be a part of the Seattle art scene during a painting party for all ages on July 22. This community mural project will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Museum’s West Campus and features music by C89.5’s DJ Trent Von. Food trucks will also be ready to serve. Registration is required to be a painter, and all registered painters will receive complimentary Museum admission.
A parent/guardian must sign-up for participants under age 18. Anyone younger than 18 needs a parent or guardian present at the event. Details and registration online.
The mural is being done in partnership with Urban Artworks and created by local artist Esmeralda Vasquez. Her design is inspired by the Museum’s collection and the concept of flight. The mural will be outlined paint-by-numbers style so participants can easily fill in the colors.
