The shadows are taking over the historic grounds of St. Mary’s City (HSMC), as Vampire Manor prepares to descend upon it. An evening affair designed for those aged 21 and above, Vampire Manor (October 18, 7-10 p.m.) is an unprecedented spectacle in Southern Maryland.
Guests will witness the Black Magic Circus in all its dark glory, with performers Alludo Mort, a jester of the night; Scarlett McKillincutty, a mistress of flames; and a sorcerer of illusions. Entry is priced at $90 for one and $160 for two tickets. Admission includes an array of experiences; savory nibbles from Hicks Family Creations; tastings courtesy of Liquid Assets, featuring premium local businesses Xella Winery, Port of Leonardtown Winery, Everyday Saint Brewhouse, Jubilee Farm Fermentations, and Free State Ciders; smoked oysters from Slow Descent; a competitive costume contest; outdoor screenings of classic vampire films; temporary “vampire bite” tattoos; and tarot reading. Guests are encouraged to bring bags of candy to donate for the following evening’s free event, Lost City. Tickets for Vampire Manor can be secured through Eventbrite at www.eventbrite.com/e/vampire-manor-tickets-944386975867.
For the younger crowd, HSMC will be hosting it’s annual Lost City event on October 19, 2024! Starting at 5 p.m., HSMC is rolling out the cobwebs for their much-loved, free trick-or-treating extravaganza. Covering the museum grounds, this spooky spectacle is not one to be missed!
Families are welcome to roam the grounds after sunset, exploring a museum decorated in fall finery and Halloween fun. Step aboard the haunted ship, the Maryland Dove, boogie down at the Monster Mash Disco Ball located at the Margaret Brent gazebo, learn the art of broomstick flying at the Town Center, and enjoy crafts and autumn-themed games. It’s an evening overloaded with enjoyment. And of course, sweet treats!
Join Historic St. Mary’s City from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on October 19. The gates will close at 7:30 p.m., and the fun wraps up at 8:00 pm. Entry is free, but donations of $5 per group are welcomed. For more details, call 301-994-4370 or email [email protected].
Parking for both events will be available off of Old State House Road, St. Mary’s City, 20686. Our friendly parking attendants will guide you. For the trick-or-treaters, please bring a flashlight if you plan on staying after sunset, as some parts of the experience may be dark.
