“The Holiday Edition has become such a special tradition, and we’re thrilled to celebrate its fifth year,” Eastern Shore Sea Glass & Coastal Arts Festival Founder and Organizer Kim Hannon said. “We have a wonderful lineup of talented artisans and musicians this year, and we can’t wait to share the fun with familiar faces and first-time guests.”
Showcasing dozens of artisans and craftspeople across CBMM’s campus, the Holiday Edition of the Eastern Shore Sea Glass & Coastal Arts Festival offers plenty of inspiration for holiday shopping. Guests can browse a wide range of coastal-inspired and sea glass goods, including jewelry, home décor, art, and more. Throughout the day, Glass Half Full Arts will share glassblowing demonstrations led by artist Eli Cecil, showcasing the process of transforming molten glass into unique works of art. This program is supported by the Upper Shore Regional Folklife Center through the Maryland Traditions program of the Maryland State Arts Council.
Sea glass expert Mary McCarthy will be on hand to share her knowledge, including shard identification. Guests of all ages can select sea glass from McCarthy’s popular beachcombing table and use it to create a unique sea glass craft. She’ll also offer a series of films highlighting the world of sea glass available on demand in the Craig Fuller & Diane Terpeluk Theater.
While enjoying all the Eastern Shore Sea Glass & Coastal Arts Festival vendors and offerings, guests are invited to explore the exhibitions and historic structures spread across CBMM’s 18-acre campus. This includes the sea glass collecting feature highlighting McCarthy’s personal story and collection in the recently opened Stories from the Shoreline exhibition in CBMM’s Welcome Center.
