Priest’s House Museum seeks Youth Council members

The Priest’s House Museum & Garden in Wimborne, Dorset is looking for 13 to 19 year olds to join their Youth Council.

The Youth Council will bring the ideas and voices of local young people into the way the museum is run.

The museum would like to involve young people in making positive contributions to many types of museum work; this could be curatorial, marketing, conservation, outreach and other areas.

Members of the Youth Council will get the opportunity to:

See behind the scenes of the museum
See the ideas and projects they have worked on become part of the museum’s displays
Meet a new and interesting group of people and attend social events
Have the chance to achieve new practical skills, including research, problem solving, design and interpretation
Gain qualifications, such as the Artsmark Award

The project is being funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

The Youth Council is open to anyone who is aged between 13 and 19 and lives within a 10 mile radius of the museum. Anyone who would like to take part should contact the Priest’s House Museum on 01202 882533 or email [email protected]
