International Photography Hall of Fame and Museum elects Ellen Curlee Board of Directors President

St. Louis – The International Photography Hall of Fame and Museum (IPHF) is pleased to announce that arts professional and current board member Ellen Curlee has been elected President for the not-for-profit’s Board of Directors.

Ellen CurleeEllen Curlee has served the International Photography Hall of Fame and Museum as a member of their Board of Directors since the Museum moved to St. Louis in 2012. She has also contributed to the IPHF as a Curator for the recent exhibitions, Portrait/Process” and “Decisive Moments – 20th Century Street Photography”. She is an external advisor to BFA students in photography at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Curlee also served on the board of advisers for Gallery 210 at UMSL from 2005 to 2008.

Prior to her involvement with the International Photography Hall of Fame and Museum, she was the Owner/Director of the Ellen Curlee Gallery, specializing in contemporary fine art photography. Curlee also founded and operated Photographic Resources, a company representing the open edition work of fine art photographers for interior architecture, graphic design and advertising. When Photographic Resources was sold to Color Associates in 1998, Ellen became the Director of their Stock Photography Division.

Over the years, Curlee has developed her professional skills as an art consultant, independent curator and a community volunteer. She has served as a Docent for the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis and the Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts. Ellen is currently a board member for the Sheldon Art Galleries, and she was previously involved with the Craft Alliance.

Robert Bullivant, Vice President of the IPHF Board and Officer of the Board, notes, “I’m thrilled that Ellen is in the position to be the IPHF’s next President. I believe she is an excellent candidate. Her dedication to the organization while she has been on the Board has been very strong, and I expect her future dedication as its president will prove to be a great decision.”
