The Hunterian Museum will offer a range of fun activities including stone carving and wool spinning, on Tuesday 6 July.
The Dig This! Archaeology Fun Day has something for everyone. Children and families are welcome between 10.00am and 4.00pm and all activities are free and hands-on.
Visitors will have the chance to be a Roman soldier and to meet the Antonine Guard, the Scottish based living history re-enactment society. Also on offer is carving runes into pendants, building walls by weaving sticks and drilling wood and stone with a bow drill.
There is also the chance to become an archaeologist and investigate evidence that the Vikings and Celts left behind.
