2010 Idaho Triennial Exhibition at Boise Art Museum

Organized every three years by the Boise Art Museum (BAM), the Idaho Triennial is a juried exhibition bringing together exemplary works of art created by a broad selection of Idaho artists.

For more than 75 years, BAM has celebrated the creativity of artists living and working in Idaho , and the Museum’s series of biennial and triennial exhibitions has become a respected and treasured tradition.

All works entered for the 2010 Idaho Triennial jurying process related to a theme: sustain + expand. Literally, figuratively or conceptually, Idaho artists were encouraged to consider the various definitions of these words, and the ways in which their works bring a local and/or regional perspective to global issues, artistic philosophies and creative techniques. The 2010 Idaho Triennial juror, Seattle curator Beth Sellars, selected 60 works of art by 46 artists, the largest number in recent history selected for an Idaho Triennial. The quality of work submitted was exceptional, making this year’s selection process extremely competitive.
