Everson Museum of Art Presents 9th Annual Sci-Fi Film Under the Stars

The Everson Museum of Art will host the 9th Annual Sci-Fi Film Under the Stars on August 19 at 8:30 p.m. The film, “Invasion of the Body Snatchers,” directed by Don Siegel, will be shown on the Everson Community Plaza and is free and open to the public.
The 1956 film “Invasion of the Body Snatchers”, is the story of Dr. Miles Bennell who returns to his small town practice to find several of his patients suffering from the paranoid delusion that their friends or relatives are impostors. He is initially skeptical, but he eventually determines to find out what is causing this phenomenon. He begins to realize that there may be some truth to the wild stories he has been hearing.

“We encourage everyone to take advantage of this free event, bring friends, lounge chairs and munchies,” said Pam McLaughlin, Curator of Education and Public Programs. “The spectacular viewing of this classic sci-fi on the side of the Everson Museum building will make for an especially thrilling evening.”

The Under the Stars series of the Everson Contemporary Film Series is a co-presentation of the Everson Museum of Art and the OnCenter, made possible in part by Coca-Cola. Vendors and family fun are included at these special screenings.

Media sponsorship for the Contemporary Film Series is provided by Syracuse.com.
