The National September 11 Memorial & Museum has announced the availability of the powerful, Explore 9/11 App on the App Store.
9/11 Memorial President Joe Daniels joined by the media and interactive design firms Local Projects LP and Archetype, Inc., unveiled new interactive education resources, including technology that brings to life a replica of Lady Liberty that was adorned from torch to toe with tributes and memorials outside a firehouse following the 9/11 attacks.
The technologies were demonstrated during a media event at the 9/11 Memorial Preview Site at 20 Vesey St. in Manhattan.
The Explore 9/11 iPhone App and the interactive pieces are some of the approaches we are taking to use cutting-edge technology to help fulfill our mission to educate, raise awareness and document the history of September 11,‛ 9/11 President Joe Daniels said. ‚I’d like to recognize Archetype for developing the amazing interactive application and Local Projects for creating a powerful and informative app that’s accessible to millions of iPhone and iPod touch users around the world. In sharing these interactive resources, we are preserving and presenting history to a generation of children who may have been too young to understand the enormity and impact of 9/11.‛
