Mattatuck Museum Arts and History Center Announces Frank DeFord Book Discussion and Signing

On Tuesday November 9, 2010 at 6:00 p.m the Mattatuck Museum Arts and History Center presents a book discussion and signing by Frank DeFord, about his new novel “Bliss Remembered”, a love story set in Germany at the 1936 Berlin Olympics during WWII.

Deford will discuss the inspiration and the challenges of writing a love story, a sports story that includes the real life portrayal of swimming star Eleanor Holm, Nazi leaders Joseph Goebbels and Adolpf Hitler.

Writer and commentator, Frank Deford is the author of 16 books, including the novels The Entitled and Everybody’s All-American. His commentary on current events is broadcast every Wednesday on National Public Radio Morning Edition. He is senior correspondent for the HBO show Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel. He is also a Senior Contributing Writer at Sports Illustrated.

The Mattatuck Museum Arts and History Center is located at 144 West Main Street, Waterbury.
