The new M Shed Museum in Bristol is planned to open in 2011.
The external building works and infrastructure works (Phase 1) – have been completed and the building has now been handed over to the museum service.
The design for the new museum building has been developed by internationally-renowned architects, LAB Architecture Studios. They have worked to preserve the existing architectural footprint and dockside façade within their design.
The new Museum of Bristol has been made possible due to a pledge of £10.2 million from the Heritage Lottery Fund, and generous support from Bristol City Council; Renaissance South West; the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council.
