The Sitka Historical Society and Museum announced the hiring of Jacqueline E. Fernandez as new Curator of Collections and Exhibits.
Ms. Fernandez has an advanced museum studies degree from Tufts University in Massachusetts, and completed coursework in collections management and exhibit design. She also completed a B.A. in International Relations at Mount Holyoke College.
The Sitka Museum is a repository of Sitka’s rich history. This is where the history of all cultures of Sitka’s past approach togetherness in a museum operated by the Sitka Historical Society. Originally called the Isabel Miller Museum, the museum got its name from a longtime Sitkan, Isabel Miller, who helped establish the museum and worked as a volunteer.
