Toledo Museum of Art (TMA) Hosting Kentucky Derby Party

The TMA Derby Party being held Saturday, May 7, 2011 | 4–8 p.m, is a community outreach and fundraising event to celebrate the Kentucky Derby and raise funds for educational programming.

This year’s 137th Derby will be projected live onto a screen that fills the Peristyle stage. Other activities taking place in the Peristyle, outdoor terraces, and the Welles Sculpture Garden include photo ops, hands-on activities, and live music by the Gray Devils, the Black Swamp String Band, Stonehouse, and Decent Folk. Enjoy food by TMA Chef Erika Rapp, Koto Buki, Flying Rhino, Class City Cafe, and Grumpy’s. A cash bar will feature beer, wine, whiskey, and of course, plenty of mint juleps!

Tickets ($25 members/$35 nonmembers) can be purchased online or by calling 419-255-8000 ext. 7432.

The Derby Party is chaired by the Museum’s Cultivation Committee. The event will raise funds to provide free school tours of The Egypt Experience exhibition.
