The Vero Beach Museum of Art presents Impressions: Selections from the Manoogian Collection, on view through May 22, 2011.
This exhibition brings together a group of 14 paintings, some of which are old friends that were seen here as part of our 20th anniversary exhibition of American Impressionism, and others will be new to our audiences and heretofore not seen in Vero Beach. These paintings not only represent some of the best work by the artists selected, but also as a group capture the aesthetic in the history of American art wherein artists sought to capture an “impression” of their subject matter rather than a detailed realistic portrayal of it. We are, once again, grateful to Jane and Richard Manoogian for giving us the opportunity to present works from their remarkable collection.
The Vero Beach Museum of Art provides cultural leadership and enrichment for the public through a wide variety of educational, studio art and humanities programs; a diversity of quality exhibitions; and the collection, preservation and presentation of important American and international works of art.
