Kemp Auto Museum Collect Food And Cash Donation for Operation Food Search

CHESTERFIELD, Missouri – At the Kemp Auto Museum’s recent BIG TRUCK DAY event, the children and families in attendance weren’t the only ones who benefitted from the event.

Because of the generosity of the children and families who attended BIG TRUCK DAY – along with the various vendors and companies with trucks and vehicles on display – the Kemp Auto Museum was able to donate 585 pounds of non-perishable and canned food items plus $250 in cash donations to Operation Food Search. The monetary donations will be used to purchase additional food for the not for profit organization.

According to Operation Food Search’s Executive Director Sunny L. Schaefer, “Of the 120,000 people currently served by Operation Food Search, nearly half are children. We are especially concerned about the effects of a poor diet on their young bodies and minds. The Kemp Auto Museum’s gift will ensure these children get nutritious meals to help them grow strong, healthy and happy.”

Schaefer adds, “The Kemp Auto Museum’s support also strenghthens the lifeline to the unemployed, disabled and elderly. We thank them for believing in our mission, and for their necessary contribution which impacts the lives of people in our own community who would otherwise go hungry.”

Lisa Roberts, Director of Special Events at the Kemp Auto Museum, comments, “Although the Kemp Auto Museum has established itself as a good community partner through the various charitable fundraisers we host at our venue, we were thrilled that the St. Louis community came through for us with food and monetary contributions for Operation Food Search at BIG TRUCK DAY.”
