National Museums of Kenya Hosts Heritage Management for Sustainable Management Conference

The National Museums of Kenya is hosting its 3rd Scientific Conference under the theme: Heritage Management for Sustainable Management, from the 9th to 11th November 2011 at Multi-Media University Conference Center, Nairobi.

As the world marks the International Year of Forests in 2011, more focus is shifted towards generating a checklist of ground breaking research in forests as key ecosystems and part of our unique heritage. At NMK, we are proud to mark this important global calendar by hosting a scientific forum to share and disseminate some results emanating from research.

NMK is a state corporation with a mission to promote conservation and sustainable utilization of national heritage through generation, documentation and dissemination of research and collection management knowledge, information and innovations. Our key goal at NMK is realizing and sharing key findings and making end user tools and products more accessible for the benefit of the society.

Eligibility
The conference participation is open to:- -Kenyan citizens -Citizens of the EAC member states -Foreigners from the rest of the world -Foreigners who have conducted research activities under the affiliation of NMK or any other kind of collaboration will be given first priority and are encouraged to submit abstracts.

Registration Fees
-The registration fee for conference participants is US$ 50 or equivalent in Kenya Shillings payable to National Museums of Kenya to cater for conference teas and lunches.
