SEATTLE – On Saturday, Nov. 19, The Museum of Flight celebrates one of its most treasured – and largest – artifacts, the Boeing 747 prototype. Activities include tours of the aircraft for Museum members (pre-registered, weather permitting), a panel discussion with jumbo jet pilots and engineers, free 747 simulator flights, an exhibit of 747 artifacts, and family workshops where kids can make their own 747 board game. All events are free with admission to the Museum.

747 Simulator Flights

Pilot your own 747 in one of the Museum’s Aviation Learning Center simulator bays. (Space is limited.)
Bank of America Weekend Family Workshop: “747: The Incredibles!”

Visitors can create their own 747 board game in this fun family workshop.
The Boeing 747 in Perspective
2 p.m.
This discussion – moderated by Boeing Company Historian Mike Lombardi – looks at over 40 years of Boeing 747 operations. Panelists include Barry Latter (Boeing 747 engineer), James Lindley (retired NW 747 Pilot), Anne Simpson (Delta 747 pilot) and John Anderson (retired Pan Am 747 pilot).
The Museum of Flight is located at 9404 E. Marginal Way S., Seattle, Exit 158 off Interstate 5 on Boeing Field half-way between downtown Seattle and Sea-Tac Airport. The Museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $16 for adults, $14 for seniors 65 and older, $13 for active military, $9 for youth 5 to 17, and free for children under 5. Group rates are available. Admission on the first Thursday of the month is free from 5 to 9 p.m. courtesy of Wells Fargo.
