The National Museum of Ireland Passes 1 Million Visitor Milestone

Dr. Patrick Wallace, Director, National Museum of Ireland, has welcomed the achievement of over 1 million visitors so far this year. This represents an increase of 10% on the total visitor numbers to the Museum in 2010. This is in keeping with the increase in travel figures which show an increase of 10% of visitors to Ireland in the first nine months of 2011.

Commenting on the increase, Dr. Wallace said “We are delighted to achieve over 1 million visitors before the year end. There are two key reasons for the increase to our 4 sites (3 in Dublin and 1 in Castelbar, Co. Mayo). The first reason is due to the marvellous exhibitions which we have on show. – www.museum.ie
