The State Library of Victoria presents Love and Devotion. from Persia and beyond, an exhibition on view Friday 9 March 2012 – Sunday 1 July 2012.

Celebrate the beauty of Persian manuscripts and the stories of human and divine love that they tell in the Love and devotion exhibition, to be held in 2012.
This exhibition features nearly 70 rare 13th- to 18th-century Persian, Mughal Indian and Ottoman Turkish illustrated manuscripts and miniatures from the Bodleian Libraries of the University of Oxford.
Early European manuscripts from the Bodleian Libraries will also be on display, including a Roman de la rose and works by Chaucer and Dante.
Love and devotion will also feature rare editions of European literature, travel books and maps from the libraries collections.
This is the first major exhibition of Persian manuscripts to be held in Australia.
