CINCINNATI – Join us on Thursday, June 21 from 6-9 p.m. as Cincinnati Museum Center hosts the Pompeii Art Show. Inspired by our special exhibit, A Day in Pompeii, artists from Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Florida, Tennessee and Maryland have created their own twist on this ill-fated city. Don’t miss this evening of art, culture and a trip half way around the world with entry to the blockbuster exhibit, A Day in Pompeii.
This one night event displays the top 25 works of art representing a variety of media and genres, and gives you an opportunity to take one of the pieces home. The show includes a silent auction of the works, with starting bids ranging from $25 and up. Voting will also be held for Best of Show. Each attendee gets one vote and the top three Best of Show works will be made into limited-edition posters and sold in the Museum Center gift shop.
Artists include Ann McGriffin, Christine Celsor, Danielle Hendry, Max Metsch, Joseph Baker, Holly Prochaska, Tracy Prestopino, Bonnie Fillenwarth, Donata Glassmeyer, Erica Keener, Spencer van der Zee, Jeff Hensley, Jesse Kramer, Carter Hammond, Chyre’ Boardman, Sarah Brancato, Bill Ross, Carol Harkness, Steve Hart and Sue Blaney.
Tickets are $30 for Museum Center Members and $35 for Non-Members. Visit cincymuseum.org/Pompeii/artshow to purchase tickets or call (513) 287-7001. Tickets can be bought at the door. The evening includes a drink ticket, cash bar, light appetizers, access to the blockbuster exhibit and a chance to vote and bid on the top 25 works.
