Butler Art Museum presents Mike McCartney: North Highlands (Howland) a photographs exhibition on view Jul 13, 2012 – Sep 02, 2012.
Mike McCartney, b. 1944, was educated at the Liverpool Institute High School. He was a member of the poetic, theatrical group, SCAFFOLD, with a stage name of McGear. He moved them into the Pop world, writing their first top five single, Thank U Very Much. In the 1980s, Mike launched his now renowned photography career with the exhibition Mike Macs White and Blacks. His photo lithographs of Rock and Roll portraits have been exhibited in Canada and at the Smithsonian Institution. North Highlands, seen throughout the UK, on view beginning July 13, 2012, at The Butler Institute of American Art, Trumbull branch in Howland Township, the first venue for this exhibition in North America.
