Delaware Art Museum announces Art is Everywhere

Delaware Art Museum presents its first pop-up art exhibition Art is Everywhere on view statewide from July 17 through early October, 2012.

Gorgeous reproductions of some of the Museum’s most treasured paintings, such as Howard Pyle’s The Mermaid, Winslow Homer’s Milking Time, and Edward Hopper’s Summertime, will be on view in the following 15 communities throughout the state.

“Pop-up” art is an outdoor museum exhibition that uses main streets and landmark outdoor spaces as its gallery space. Realistic reproductions of works of art are printed to scale, framed, and then installed in pedestrian-friendly outdoor locations—including parks, the sides of public or private buildings, and other locations where people gather. The purpose of a pop-up art exhibition is to interact with audiences outside traditional museum walls.
