Contemporary Jewish Museum presents Crossing Delancey a film screening on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 2 – 3:40 pm.
In this 1988 film, Amy Irving plays Izzy, a Manhattan bookstore clerk who spends her time hobnobbing with the modern literati. Izzy’s bubbie sets her up with a man whose hand is literally caught in the pickle jar. Mr. Pickle turns out to be a mensch, and Izzy is forced to choose between the old-world pickle merchant and a famous (but married) author.
Free matinee screenings are presented in conjunction with the Museum’s admission-free first Tuesdays of the month.
