Laguna Art Museum presents Laguna Dance Festival Preview Performance on September 6th 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM.
Laguna Dance Festival is regarded as one of Orange County’s major annual cultural events and continues to be an important showcase for new and established dance companies and artists. This preview performance at Laguna Art Museum during First Thursdays Art Walkwill feature a sample of innovative dance choreographed by three artists:
– Jennifer Lott presents a mesmerizing duet, From Personal Mythology: An American Odyssey, with the music of Bob Dylan’s “Gates of Eden” by DM Stith
– Jessie Ryan adds humor and a theatrical sensibility to contemporary dance in her rendition of These Arms of Mine set to the pop standard of the same name by the soulful Otis Redding
– Saleemah E. Knight features her duet Above and Below, which experiments with the space created above, below, around, and between human bodies

Additional dance performances will take place a various galleries throughout Laguna Beach during First Thursdays Art Walk. Laguna Dance Festival takes place September 7-9, 2012 at The Laguna Playhouse.
Laguna Dance Festival presents professional dance performances, master classes, and pre-performance talks in an intimate venue in the arts-minded community of Laguna Beach. The festival’s mission is to support and promote the development of dance creation, presentation, and education, and to increase public appreciation of the art form in Orange County and beyond. Laguna Dance Festival is a nonprofit organization.
