Harry Smith, from the Kentucky Humanities Council, will portray the Proud Kentucky Militiaman who fought in the War of 1812, Private William Greathouse. With great humor and pride in his home state of Kentucky, Private Greathouse’s story not only tells of his personal contributions to American History, but also explains Kentucky’s vital role in America’s “Second War for Independence”.
All programs are free and take place at the museum located at 217 South Main Street in downtown Winchester, Ky. The doors open at 6:00pm and the program begins at 6:30pm. The building has a side door, handicapped accessible entrance. Refreshments will be served after the presentation. People are welcome to stay a while and browse the exhibits.
