In conjunction with our special exhibition, Women Hold Up Half the Sky, the Freedom Center will offer Empowered Mothers, a maternal health fair covering a range of women’s health topics, including mammography, obstetrics/gynecology, diabetes, heart health, oncology, osteoporosis, fitness and nutrition.
A primary care physician from Mercy Health will be on site to answer general health questions, as well as to answer questions about the maternal health topics covered in Women Hold Up Half the Sky.
Free blood glucose and blood pressure screenings will be provided, and guests who don’t have a primary care physician can receive a referral.
In addition to health awareness booths and workshops, the fair will offer dramatic storytelling for children, and a showing of the film A Walk to Beautiful which focuses on women dealing with fistula, a health condition found in developing countries.
Who: Mercy Health Partners, Healthy Beginnings and other area health providers will offer booths.
