Albany museum changes gender of mummy

The Albany Institute of History and Art acquired two mummies in 1909 from a museum in Egypt, where officials said one was a male and the other a female.

The second mummy, sold wrapped in a wooden coffin, was labeled as a woman for about a century at the Albany museum. Now the museum has found out its female mummy was really a male, after an X-ray and CT scan.
