An Exhibition & Sale of Over 200 Photos Submitted from Pittsburgh, 27 States, & 11 Countries
PITTSBURGH, PA, April 29, 2013 – Silver Eye Center for Photography hosts its first ever 8 x 8 PHOTO PARTY on Friday, May 17, 2013 from 7-11 pm at 1015 East Carson Street on Pittsburgh’s South Side. The 8 x 8 PHOTO PARTY is a fabulous social gathering, an exhibition and sale of hundreds of 8 x 8 inch square photographs submitted from Pittsburgh and from around the world, and a festive celebration of the artist in all of us.
Advance tickets are $25 and $15 and can be purchased online until 12:00 noon on the day of the event at http://www.showclix.com/event/eightbyeight. Tickets will be available at the door for $20 (beginning at 8 pm). All proceeds from the 8 x 8 PHOTO PARTY benefit Silver Eye Center for Photography, Pittsburgh’s nationally- acclaimed non-profit space for contemporary photography.
At 7 pm, the 8 x 8 PHOTO PARTY kicks off with a special cocktail reception featuring delicious, light hors d’oeuvres from Square Cafe and specialty cocktails by Wigle Whiskey. At 8 pm, the event swings into high gear with the electrifying beats of DJ Nate Da Phat Barber, a sampling of food, wine, beer, and spirits from top local restaurants and purveyors, photo booths, and much more. Throughout the evening, guests can purchase original work from the 8 x 8 exhibition at $20 per photograph – an affordable way to add or even start your collection while supporting a great cause!
