May 5th, 7 – 8:30 pm with Heather Britt Dance Collective
Allard Van Hoorn will collaborate with Mamluft&Co Dance to create the next Urban Songlines project, which turns physical sites into uncanny instruments. At noon on May 3rd, dancers will perform Zaha Hadid’s urban carpet in the CAC lobby while Van Hoorn collects the sounds the building makes in response to the movement. The second act features the same or slightly altered movement to the score that has just been created moments earlier.
A second performance on Monday May 5th at 7 pm will feature dancers selected by choreographer Heather Britt.
Allard van Hoorn is a sound, installation and performance artist
collaborating across the disciplines of architecture, design, music, dance and theatre. He creates visual, acoustic and spatial scripts and scenarios that investigate our relationship to public space.
This performance is a part of the CAC’s exhibition BUILDERING: Misbehaving the City.
