Free Family Fun with Fire Departments June 27

Parking lot filled with firefighters, big trucks and fast cars for King County Fire Department Kids Safety Day

SEATTLE – The King County Fire & Life Safety Association is hosting the Annual King County Fire Department Kids’ Safety Day at the Museum on June 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Museum’s Parking Lot turns into a colorful carnival of big trucks and the friendly firefighters who use them. Kids of all ages can climb aboard the fire equipment on display and meet the men and women who always come to the rescue. Special guests include Smokey Bear.

Family Fun with Fire DepartmentsParticipants include many of the local fire departments and rescue units with their trucks, boats, cruisers and helicopters. Visitors are encouraged meet the men and women who serve them. Kids will have the opportunity to climb aboard the vehicles, talk with firefighters and rescue personnel, and learn fire and life safety skills through fun activities. The Safety Zone will teach children safety skills, while providing adults with life-saving information. Free fire fighter caps and badges for the kids.

The Museum of Flight is located at 9404 E. Marginal Way S., Seattle, Exit 158 off Interstate 5 on Boeing Field half-way between downtown Seattle and Sea-Tac Airport. The Museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $19 for adults, $16 for seniors 65 and older, $16 for active military, $11 for youth 5 to 17, and free for children under 5. Group rates are available. Admission on the first Thursday of the month is free from 5 to 9 p.m. courtesy of Wells Fargo. McCormick & Schmick’s Wings Café is on site.
