Museum of Flight Berlin Airlift Photo Book Lecture and Book Signing

SEATTLE – On May 16 at 2 p.m., the Museum celebrates Armed Forces Day with a presentation about a peaceful armed forces project, the Berlin Airlift. Author Bruce McAllister will discuss his newest photographic publication, “Berlin Airlift: A Bridge to Freedom.” The Berlin Airlift was the first major crisis of the Cold War, in which the United States Air Force embarked on a monumental air campaign to bring relief to over two million West Berliners.

Featuring over 240 historical, beautiful photographs and illustrations from the airlift, McAllister’s book and presentation is for both aviation history and photography enthusiasts. Following presentation, McAllister will be available to sign copies of his book. The presentation is free with admission to the Museum, the book signing is free for all. Admission to the Museum is free for active military with ID and up to five family members now through Labor Day Weekend.

The Museum of Flight is located at 9404 E. Marginal Way S., Seattle, Exit 158 off Interstate 5 on Boeing Field halfway between downtown Seattle and Sea-Tac Airport. The Museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $20 for adults, $17 for seniors 65 and older, $17 for active military, $12 for youth 5 to 17, and free for children under 5.
