CINCINNATI – Attention inventors, tinkerers, and DIY enthusiasts: You created, and we listened. Because of the incredible originality, innovation and excitement that has been shown by makers around the region in anticipation of the 2015 Cincinnati Mini Maker Faire, we have extended the application deadline for interested makers to June 30.
Makers of all ages are encouraged to display their inventions, gadgets, creations and skills at this year’s Cincinnati Mini Maker Faire. The event will take place on August 29 & 30 at Cincinnati Museum Center. Interested makers should visit www.cincinnatimakerfaire.com to apply.
“Cincinnati Museum Center is constantly striving to develop inquisitive minds and serve as a vehicle for creativity,” says Elizabeth Pierce, president and CEO of Cincinnati Museum Center. “Since we opened the application, we have received an outpouring of interest from makers around the Cincinnati area who want to be a part of this year’s Mini Maker Faire. We’ve extended the deadline to ensure that all makers have an opportunity to show off the creativity and ingenuity that this region has to offer.”
Cincinnati Mini Maker Faire is a Cincinnati Museum Center event that is part of the global Maker Faire network created by MAKE Magazine. This year’s event will bring together amateur and professional inventors, artists, crafters, chemists, engineers and performers. To join in the fun, interested makers should apply at www.cincinnatimakerfaire.com by our new, extended deadline of June 30.
Exhibits and activities will be scattered through the Museum of Natural History & Science, Cincinnati History Museum and Duke Energy Children’s Museum as well as in the parking lots and lawn in front of Union Terminal. A Mini Maker Market will take over the Rotunda, offering a collection of unique, handmade crafts. With the ingenuity, skill and imagination of new inventors, there’s no telling what explosive and awe-inspiring exhibits will be on display at this year’s Mini Maker Faire.
Cincinnati Mini Maker Faire will take place August 29 & 30 at Cincinnati Museum Center. The event is included with museum admission and is free to Cincinnati Museum Center Members.
