At the meeting the 2015 calendar year statistics were announced. With over 1.449 million visits, Cincinnati Museum Center experienced its second busiest year in 2015, including the single busiest month in the Museum Center’s history.

In 2015 Cincinnati Museum Center hosted four special exhibitions and four OMNIMAX® films that have taken visitors around the world, beneath the ocean, beyond the stars and back in time. Special exhibitions Mummies of the World: The Exhibition, Science of Sports, The Art of the Brick and the Museum Center-produced Treasures of Our Military Past offered guests the opportunity to view mummies more than 2,000 years old, explore the science behind their fastball, see classic and modern works of art recreated with LEGO® bricks and view a treasure from Cincinnati Museum Center’s own collections – an original copy of the Declaration of Independence from July 9, 1776.

Visitors to the Robert D. Lindner Family OMNIMAX® Theater experienced the holy city of Jerusalem through breathtaking aerial images and exclusive access to sacred sites in Jerusalem; swam alongside underwater giants through the icy waters of Alaska and the tropic seas of Hawaii in Humpback Whales; toured the battlefields of Normandy in D-Day: Normandy 1944; and went behind the scenes with NASA in Journey to Space as NASA prepares for their next giant step for mankind – landing an astronaut on Mars. Over 414,000 visitors toured Cincinnati Museum Center’s special exhibits and experienced the five story domed OMNIMAX® theater in 2015.

The year ended on the highest note of the Museum Center’s 25 years. Nearly 224,000 guests visited the institution in December 2015, the highest attended single month since Cincinnati Museum Center opened in 1990.

“Our guests made 2015 a great year for us and we’ve heard that the exhibits, films and programming we provided made the year equally memorable for them,” says Elizabeth Pierce , president and CEO of Cincinnati Museum Center.
