64 films compete for the top spot at Cincinnati Museum Center’s OMNIMAX Theater

CINCINNATI – It’s March and that can mean only one thing – Madness! ‘Max Madness to be exact. Cincinnati Museum Center is presenting a bracket of 64 OMNIMAX® films that you can vote on starting today. The final four films will be shown as the classic films for May and June. Vote online for your favorite film and help it get to the big dance on the big screen.

From the depths of the ocean to the farthest reaches of the universe, the OMNIMAX® experience takes you beyond the screen, into the film itself as the adventure unfolds around you. Since its opening over 25 years ago, the Robert D. Lindner Family OMNIMAX® Theater has shown 72 films in the five-story domed theater. From those 72 films, 64 were selected for our ‘Max Madness bracket and the chance to be one of the final films shown in the OMNIMAX® Theater before it closes as part of the renovations to Union Terminal in July 2016. The Final Four films will be shown as May and June classic films.

The ‘Max Madness bracket features all of your favorite OMNIMAX® films. Maybe you’ll vote for the films that remind you of your childhood school field trips: Ring of Fire, Journey into Amazing Caves and Mysteries of Egypt.

Or the film that tells the story of amazing feats by individuals: Everest, Shackleton’s Antarctic Adventure, Lewis and Clark: Great Journey West and Tornado Alley.

Incredible moments in time are told in captivating detail on the OMNIMAX® screen, so perhaps Hurricane on the Bayou, Rocky Mountain Express, Titanica and D-Day: Normandy 1944 will get your vote.

Or maybe you’ll just vote for your favorite narrator: Leonardo DiCaprio in Hubble, Morgan Freeman in Island of Lemurs: Madagascar, Patrick Stewart in Hidden Universe and Jim Carrey in Under the Sea.

Every bracket has their Cinderella story so don’t count out NASCAR, To the Arctic, Bears and Journey to the South Pacific.

Then there’s always the Rolling Stones at the Max.

Vote early, vote often and help your favorite film make it to the Final Four where it will be one of the final classic films before the OMNIMAX® Theater temporarily closes. There will be a new round of voting each week, so check back to see if your films moved on.

The Final Four films will be the 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. classic films for May and June.

And don’t miss National Parks Adventure, the ultimate off-trail adventure through some of the country’s most iconic national parks and wild spaces, now showing daily in the OMNIMAX® Theater.

The OMNIMAX® Theater will close for an extended period starting July 2016 as part of the renovations to Union Terminal.
