The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum recently received two TripAdvisor 2017 Certificate of Excellence awards. These awards celebrate excellence in hospitality and are only given to establishments consistently achieving great traveler reviews on TripAdvisor. In addition to winning for CBMM as a whole, the 1879 Hooper Strait Lighthouse was also recognized this year.
“TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence is a badge of honor our staff and volunteers proudly earn,” said CBMM President Kristen Greenaway. “CBMM has achieved this recognition for six consecutive years, and we look forward to continuing to earn this kind of feedback while bringing a transformative Chesapeake experience to each of our guests, year after year.”
When selecting Certificate of Excellence winners, TripAdvisor uses a proprietary algorithm that takes into account the quality, quantity, and recency of reviews and opinions submitted by travelers on TripAdvisor over a 12-month period, as well as the business’s tenure and ranking on the site’s Popularity Index. To qualify, businesses must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five, have a minimum number of reviews, and must have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months.
“This recognition helps travelers identify and book properties that regularly deliver great service. TripAdvisor is proud to play this integral role in helping travelers feel more confident in their booking decisions,” said Vice President of Industry Marketing, Heather Leisman.
Certificate of Excellence winners include accommodations, eateries, and attractions located all over the world that have continually delivered superior guest experiences.
TripAdvisor is an online travel site offering advice from travelers, with nearly 390 million monthly online visitors and more than 500 million reviews and opinions covering more than 7 million attractions, accommodations, and restaurants.
