CINCINNATI – Cincinnati Museum Center’s (CMC) newest OMNIMAX® film is taking viewers on a breathtaking journey to the tropical island nation of Cuba. CUBA: Journey to the Heart of the Caribbean immerses audiences in the electrifying culture of the island and reveals why Cuba continues to stir the imagination of the world. The film opens in CMC’s Robert D. Lindner Family OMNIMAX® Theater June 7.
CUBA tells the powerful story of a land preserved in time, yet poised on the cusp of dramatic change. The nation’s lively culture, meticulously maintained colonial architecture and pristine ecosystems provide a colorful window into the island’s culture and heart. The film transports audiences across breathtaking landscapes, under the ocean surface to iridescent reefs and into streets throbbing with music and dance in the heart of Havana.
“It’s the architecture, the large unspoiled swaths of land and the cities. Cuba is so unique and fascinating, a world unto itself,” says the film’s director Peter Chang. “This film is a portrait of this vibrant island at a pivotal point in its history and will bring to life the character and spirit of the land and people as only the giant screen can.”
Through the eyes of Cuban artists, historians and scientists, the film provides an intimate look at the vivacious nation, revealing the depth and richness of the often misunderstood country.
CUBA opens at Cincinnati Museum Center on June 7. Visit cincymuseum.org/omnimax/cuba for more information or to purchase tickets.
