CINCINNATI – Time is running out to get your tickets for an adults-only night at the museum. Cincinnati Museum Center’s second annual party with a purpose, Layers of Creativity, is your chance to drink with the dinosaurs, party with the polar bear and explore every nook and cranny of the museum after hours. All proceeds from the November 19 Layers of Creativity event support CMC’s Champion More Curiosity campaign.
With bars on every level and a variety of delicacies from the city’s culinary experts, Layers guests can enjoy exclusive after-hours access as they bar hop across three museums. Walk the cobblestone streets past an 1850s steamboat and beer hall as you raise your own stein of a local brew. Embrace your inner carnivore or herbivore as you graze in the shadow of dinosaurs and explore the prehistoric beasts along the Ice Age trail. And let our mad scientists delight your taste buds with liquid nitrogen-fueled foods and fizzing cocktails.
CMC’s first Layers event in 2019 welcomed over 600 guests throughout Union Terminal and, after a pandemic-induced delay, the event is back for 2021.
“For every person who wishes they could go back and be a kid at the museum again, now is your chance. Only this time you get to explore with a drink in your hand,” said Elizabeth Pierce, president & CEO of Cincinnati Museum Center. “Layers of Creativity is our opportunity to celebrate our city’s innovative spirit in an evening of revelry while supporting programming for the next generation of innovators.”
A series of explosive spectacles, live music, conversations with curators and paleontologists and other surprises to celebrate creativity in all its forms make for one unforgettable night at the museum. Layers of Creativity is your chance to catch up with old friends and make new ones, relive memories of field trips past and revel in culinary and cocktail excellence.
Among the evening’s spotlight activities are a corsage and boutonniere-making station with Daisy Jane’s Flower Truck, a bourbon experience in the Cincinnati History Museum provided by Brain Brew and Queen City Vignette, a bath bomb decorating station in the Children’s Museum with Buff City Soap, a 90s party with Cincy Wedding Services and JonJon spinning music live.
Layers of Creativity all-inclusive general admission tickets are $225. Premium tickets are available for $250, which includes one-hour early admission, VIP access and exclusive behind-the-scenes experiences. All tickets include food, drinks, entertainment and access to CMC’s three museums and featured exhibitions. All guests must either show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or proof of a negative to enter the event. Visit cincymuseum.org/layers to secure your ticket to the party of the year.
