The Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute presents Through Shen-kan. Sterling Clark in China, an exhibition on view, June 16, 2012 – September 16, 2012.

The Institute’s founder, Sterling Clark, organized and led an expedition collecting specimens and information in North China, which is documented in the publication Through Shên-kan: The Account of the Clark Expedition in North China, 1908–9.

Clark’s life and experiences in China are explored in the exhibition Through Shên-kan: Sterling Clark in China, a selection of biological specimens, scientific equipment, historic photographs, and original documents related to the expedition.
