Lost City Museum Hosts Lecture by Christine S. Vanpool

The Lost City Museum will host a guest lecture by Christine S. Vanpool, Assistant Professor from the University of Missouri, on Sunday November 7th 2010 at 6 p.m.

VanPool will discuss how modern Puebloan potters consider pots living beings with a spiritual essence and how understanding this belief can be insightful to archaeologists and others who study and enjoy pottery. Her focus during this presentation will be on pottery from the Casas Grandes region.

The Lost City Museum is open Thursday through Sunday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Regular admission charge is $5.00 for adults, Children under 18 and members enter free. The museum is located in Overton on State Route 169 off 1-15, exit #93 or via Lake Mead or the Valley of Fire. For more information, call the museum at (702) 397-2193.
