The Maryland Science Center will take visitors to the top of the world and back in time when The Wildest Dream: Conquest of Everest is now playingat theSt. John Properties IMAX Theater.

Created especially for the IMAX experience, The Wildest Dream pushes the limits of the Theater’s five-story screen and powerful digital surround sound, bringing audiences to the dizzying heights, terrifying drops, and howling winds of Everest without the fear of frostbite.

The Wildest Dream follows expert mountain climber Conrad Anker as he attempts to replicate the Everest ascent of British explorer George Mallory, who famously disappeared in 1924 while attempting to be the first to summit the mountain.

Aided only by period climbing equipment, Anker follows Mallory’s route up Everest to challenge himself and answer the question that has plagued him since he discovered Mallory’s body on the mountain in 1999: Did the famed British adventurer reach the summit?

The Wildest Dream delves deep into the life of the passionate and complex Mallory, torn between the love of his life and his desire to conquer the world’s tallest peak. Narrated by Liam Neeson and featuring the vocal talents of Ralph Fiennes and the late Natsha Richardson, the film tells Mallory’s story through poignant letters between Mallory and his wife, previously unseen photos, archival film footage and intense dramatization.

The film is shown Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and is included with admission to the Maryland Science Center. The Maryland Science Center is located at 601 Light Street at Baltimore’s Inner Harbor.
